The report, written by Adrijana Hanušić, offers a review of the relevant international standards and comparative experiences, an analysis of the legal framework in BiH, a review and analysis of the practice of the BiH Ombudsman in cases of discrimination, and argumented suggestions of possible solutions for a more efficient fulfillment of the role of this institution in the protection of individuals against discrimination.
This report contains the results of research conducted during 2011 and 2012 as part of the project “A Comprehensive Overview of the Anti-Discrimination Framework and Practice in BiH in Comparative Perspective,” implemented by Analitika. This project represents the policy segment of the “Anti-Discrimination Program,” coordinated and funded by the Open Society Fund Bosnia and Herzegovina.
