Francesco de Sanctis is an attorney (Rome Bar Association-Italy) and a Ph.D with twelve years of professional experience in the areas of justice sector monitoring, transitional justice and rule of law.

Working in expert positions with the OSCE Mission in Bosnia-Herzegovina and the EU Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX), he built up a record of result-oriented actions aimed at improving the efficiency and fairness of domestic justice systems when dealing with sensitive and complex criminal cases. Since October 2012 he has been involved as a consultant in internationally funded projects for the justice sectors in BiH and Georgia. Francesco published a dozen of articles dealing with human rights, international criminal law and transitional justice issues and has extensive experience as a university lecturer on these subjects.
