Advocacy and Lobbying in the European Union

Impact on policies and advocacy in the context of policy making in the EU is constant interest of ministries and other public institutions, business community and other stakeholders. Actual and timely influence is crucial to achieve results and avoid possible disagreements between European initiatives and their own political goals. It does not only require significant preparation, but also advanced communication and lobbying skills. Within this training it will be discussed about the preparation of public policies within the European Commission, the role of the European Parliament and the Council, and about the (non) formal business culture and processes within these institutions. Participants will practice lobbying and draft a strategic lobbying and communication plan.
