PASOS is a network of policy research organizations from Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Sharing experiences between members, increasing the influence of each member and raising research quality by developing standards are just several of this association’s goals. With the slogan “strengthening policy centres to make ‘open society’ work”, PASOS aims to promote and protect democracy, human rights and open society values – which include the rule of law, good governance and economic and social development - by supporting civil society organizations that foster public participation in public policy issues in the EU and global structures, as well as the wider neighborhood of Europe and Central Asia, on an individual or joint basis.

PASOS now has 37 policy centers as its members, and seven associate members. PASOS’ priority areas for activities are democracy and human rights, good governance and open economy, sustainable development and international cooperation.
